On November 14th, a UN delegation led by DSRSG Abdoulaye Bathily and Force Commander Major General Jean Bosco Kazura flew to Kidal, in the North of Mali. The purpose of the trip was to mediate and discuss with representatives of armed groups MNLA and HCUA to ensure that the agreement signed last week in Ouagadougou was respected. The agreement stated that MNLA and HCUA would hand-over to Mali Government the Governor administrative building and the radio station. After demonstrations and protests by residents and long discussions between the armed groups and the delegation, Thursday afternoon the two buildings were freed and handed-over to MINUSMA Blue Helmets.
